Choosing to be "green" and actually doing it are two very different things. Carrying your groceries in a cloth bag every time you grocery shop is being green. Turning the water off while you brush your teeth is being green.

These little things can save our planet big time. While some think that these every day or weekly activities are good, here's a few other "green" things to consider:

  • If you use an irrigation system, turn it off if you see run-off occurring.
  • Riding your bike or running all your errands in one trip can save the planet from hundreds of pounds of carbon emissions.
  • Laying sod is cheaper and better for the environment than laying a concrete surface.
  • Planting trees - it's good for the air and can increase property value.
  • Use a filtered Brita water pitcher instead of buying water bottles.

Just a few "green" things to think about! For more information on going green, inside the home and out, visit http://www.squidoo.com/agreenlife.
